What is Read, Eat, Play Library Road Trip?

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Read, Eat, Play Library Road Trip! We are excited for you to start your journey. We know you will have a great time exploring all the wonderful libraries, eateries, shops and parks participating in the 2nd Annual Read, Eat, Play Library Road Trip!

To complete your Road Trip and be entered into a grand prize drawing, you must collect stickers or stamps from your home library (library card provider) and at least 9 others. When visiting a library please be sure to take your Passport to the main circulation desk to receive your sticker or stamp. If the library you visit doesn't have a page in this Passport, no worries. Just have them stamp the "Bonus Stamps!" area inside the back cover for you. Then, between May 27 and August 29, 2025 be sure to return to your home library and drop off your Passport to get entered into their prize drawing!

Remember, you can use your library card to check out items from any of the libraries you visit. When you are done with the items you've checked out, you can return them to any library in your passport and our courier service will deliver them to the appropriate library for you. This fantastic service also lets you request a book from any library and have it sent to your home library for pick up! Just ask at any library's circulation desk for details.

Each participating Library has a page in the passport with its address, operating hours, and information about local eateries, parks and attractions. Please be sure to double-check business websites and social media for more information and verify a location's hours when planning your trip.

FAQs

Q:  Can I visit libraries that are not listed to get my passport stamped?

A: YES! If the library doesn’t have a sticker their staff can use their address stamp on the last page of the passport.

Q: Can I checkout books from the other libraries on the road trip?

A: Yes! You can use your library card to check out items from any of the libraries you visit. When finished with them, return them to your home library.

Q: Can I return my passport anywhere?

A: No, you must return your passport to your home library by Sept. 5, 2025.

Q:   Deer Creek Library isn’t my home library. Can I still participate?

A:   Maybe. See if your library is participating in the Read, Eat, Play: Library Road Trip. (Scroll to the bottom of the page.)

Q: [STAFF] What do I do when a non-Deer Creek Library patron brings in their passport?

A: Affix a Read, Eat, Play sticker on page 7 of their passport.

How do I participate?

• Register in person at the Deer Creek District Library

• Pick up a passport & Library Road Trip sticker at the front desk. *** Deer Creek Library is on page 7 ***

• Visit at least 9 other libraries (a total of 10 locations, including us) to get a passport sticker or stamp by Aug 29, 2025.

• Return your passport to your home library by Sept. 5, 2025, to be entered for a prize drawing!
